Wayne Larsen takes off for a test hop in a modern version of the Wright brothers' 1903 plane Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at the west desert airport in Wendover, Utah. The craft is a creation by Utah State University professsors and students to celebrate the 100th anniversary of flight. Once proven airworthy, it will be taken on flying tours around the country.
