An interesting shot gun item from the 1860 and the transition from percussion to cartridge. This little item is a re-loadable shot shell which was fired by a percussion cap. The idea was that the base could be quickly screwed off and a percussion cap seated as opposed to dirving out the spent primer and re seating the new primer. 12 ga with patented date of November 29, 1864 and the maker F.D. & Co. a New item and in excellent condition.
но никак не могу допереть, как он использовался и почему написано перкуссион, вроде игольчатые винтовки сделал инамного позже 1864 года или нет?
