The russian tried hard to break through on the first days of Oct, but all its attempts were rejected; on Oct 05 the division destroyed 22 hostile tanks in front of its positions. The enemy also carried out an amphibious operation trying to breach the 1 ID’s front in conjuction with one attack against the 58 ID at Urizk coming from the Leningrad sector but without success, the static war had began and the Oranienbaum Pocket remained as a signal of reciprocal weakness.
